EDWARD (TEDDY) LIDDY

Teddy Liddy commenced playing colts football (Under 17) for St Mary's at 15 years of age and won the Club Best & Fairest award for that grade in the same year, 1973/74.

In 1975 Teddy played with Morningside (Q.A.F.L.) winning the Club Best & Fairest at 17 years of age. Whilst playing for Morningside Teddy was selected in the Under 19 Queensland Team against A.C.T. acheiving Best on Ground Award.

Teddy won Saints Gerry Roe Memorial Trophy in 1976/77 and was a member of Saints Grand Final team of the same year. lie was also a member of Saints 1977/78 and 78/79 Premiership teams, winning the Club Best & Fairest award for Season 78/79.

In 1979 he played for West Adelaide (S.A.N.F.L.) before injury cut short his S.A. football career. He played for Coolangatta (Gold Coast League) in 1982, being part of their Premiership team.

Teddy has Captained the Saint Mary's League team since 1981/82 and has been part of their winning 83/84, 84/85, 85/86,86/87 and 87/88 Premiership teams.

He has Captained the NTFL against CAFL in Alice Springs in 1984 and also against SANFL Premiers Glenelg in 1985. He was a member of the NTFL Rep team against Sydney Swans in 1987.

Teddy played his 200th NTFL League game in the 1987/88 Grand Final as Captain of St Mary's Premiership team. Teddy went on to play a then record 272 games for St Marys which has since been broken by Michael Athanasiou.

Teddy was made a life member of St. Marys in 1985 and life member of the N.T.F.L. in 1988
